Select Fill
Unlike common fill, select must meet a select Plasticity Index specification as outlined by a geotechnical engineer. Select Fill is a 60/40 mix of lean clay to sand. It can be excavated in a natural state or blended during excavation. Primarily used to elevate a project with a stable foundation. This is a necessary option to balance out a high clay content in our inherited Louisiana soils. It’s also used near things like retaining walls and drainage channels.
